Tim is a parent and volunteer in his community. He serves in several roles as a leader in the community and the schools.

Personal Story
Tim Dougherty has lived in San Diego for over 20 years and has been a parent and volunteer in the Poway Unified School District for seven years. He has two girls in the District.
He is currently a member of the Park Village Elementary School Site Council and has served the past three years as elected Chairperson. In that role, he presided over the Council and worked with teachers and administrators to develop and complete the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), among other duties.
He has been a member of the Park Village Elementary PTA for four years and the President for two years. He has been an executive for the Park Village Foundation and helped raise money for school enrichment programs.
In 2020, Tim was a candidate for the PUSD Area A Trustee seat.
Tim also serves as a member and Executive of the Rancho Penasquitos Town Council and serves as a member of the Rancho Penasquitos Planning Group.
Tim is in the field of supply chain management and industrial engineering as an Executive with a local retailer. He has had a career in engineering & technology and holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Engineering degree. He was an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego School of Engineering and a teacher at a middle school. He was a Division I athlete in college and a youth coach in wrestling as well as coached other youth sports more recently.
Tim believes in dedicating time to the community and has a passion for learning, teaching, coaching athletics, and education.
